From the Principal's Desk
We've started the second term with a wonderful week. On Monday and Tuesday we had ISSEA pep rallies to bid farewell to our athletes. On Monday we had a volleyball match between faculty and Twigas, with the faculty narrowly winning. On Tuesday members of the track and field squad competed against their peers from other grades. The ISSEA competition has officially started, volleyball matches and can be viewed live here. The counsellors and I hosted a parent workshop entitled, Alcohol and other drug use in ADOLESCENCE: how to help. We discussed the FCD student survey that students took several weeks ago, described the Personal Social Education classes that all students take and tips for parents. More information will be released once the FCD survey results arrive later this term.
Yesterday we had a short Knitted Knockers session. The event was a Breast Cancer Information Session for students to raise awareness about Breast Cancer in Dar. An oncologist came and spoke to students as well as listening to and answering their questions. As part of TAT members of Knitted Knockers are helping the women by making them knockers - breast prosthesis.
