From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

This morning we celebrated the end of Semester 1 with a whole school assembly. Many children took part in musical and dramatic presentations and many others were congratulated for various achievements during the term. Below is a selection of photos from the assembly.

Hour of Code
Over the past two weeks, IST Elementary students have joined hundreds of thousands of students around the world participating in the Hour of Code. The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Here is a video that shows IST students participating in Hour of Code 2018 - we had lots of fun! Learn more about this global initiative at

Written Reports
Semester 1 Progress Reports will come home today electronically. These reports contain a summary of progress written by your child's homeroom teacher ( and English Additional Language and Learning Support if applicable). As a follow up to these reports Three Way Conferences will be held with parents and students (Grade 1-5) on Wednesday January 23. Opportunity will also be given to meet with specialist teachers at these conferences.

We have a few families leaving Elementary School today. We wish these children and parents all the very best for their next adventure wherever that is in the world.

Swimming Pool closure over the break
During the Holidays the ES Pool will be closed for community swimming on the following days:

Monday 24 December
Tuesday 25 December
Wednesday 26 December
Tuesday 1 January
On all other days the pool will be open from 10am -4pm
