From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents,

Performances two and three of Seussical were wonderful. The whole Seussical cast gave their best and entertained two packed audiences in the MPH. We trust that the children found the whole experience enjoyable and rewarding. As mentioned on the evenings a huge thank you to all the parents who helped with make up etc. and of course to the many teachers and staff who committed so much time and energy. The video of the show is being worked on, we'll let parents know as soon as it is available.

This morning Grade 5 students did a wonderful job in their Interactive Science Assembly this morning. Thanks to the students and teachers of Grade 5 for this presentation. Meanwhile the first of the two internal Swim Galas took place also with Grade 1 and 2 students taking part in a variety of standard and not so standard fun races

A big thank you to the the EPN for organising a very enjoyable Friendship Duka on Wednesday. There was a great community atmosphere and the school very much appreciated the work of many parents on Wednesday and in the days before.

Siku ya Fuhara and Mother Tongue

On Friday 23 February for the first three periods of the day all the children will be involved in finding out more about Tanzanian and Swahili Culture. At 7.20am we will have an assembly involving all Grade 2 and 3 students to which parents are warmly welcome. The workshops which follow are being prepared by our Kiswahili teachers and Teaching Assistants. Children are encouraged to wear Tanzanian colours on this day.

Following on from Siku ya Fuhara, during the week beginning 26 February all Library lessons will have a Mother Tongue focus and our librarian Mr. Leichner is inviting parents to read stories from their own language in these library lessons. A Google Doc has been sent by teachers via Grade newsletters for parents to sign up. There will also be some Mother Tongue activities at break times during this week - see poster here.

EPN news

Quiz Masters for the evening are Carole Kessler and Steve Mellman; there will be a Buffet style curry dinner served during the evening and a raffle with amazing prizes thanks to the generosity of a number of local companies.
