From the Director of Teaching and Learning: MAP Tests
After Spring break, IST will administer the Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP) to grades 3-10. MAP is an online, adaptive test that will allow for results to used to determine student's instructional level and to measure academic growth from the test administered at the beginning of the school year in reading, language arts, and mathematics. The results from the beginning of the school year helped classroom teachers personalise your child's learning, as it is one indication of where a student's skill development is on the continuum. The results from this second testing will show growth areas between the two testing times.
MAP testing will be administered during the following weeks:
- April 29 Grades 6-10
- May 6 grades 3&4
- May 13 grade 5
As with each school day, be sure your child has slept well, had a nutritious breakfast, comes to school with a positive attitude and is ready to learn. For more information on resources for parents, download the Parent Toolkit.
A Parent Coffee has been organized for May 30 from 8:00 - 9:00 am in the Secondary Campus library to review growth data and help parents interpret their child's test results. Should you have questions please contact Tina Fossgreen, via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
