End of Year Announcements

Congratulations to the Secondary Music Department for a wonderful ASA Showcase this past Thursday. All of the ensembles performed wonderfully, and the students represented themselves extraordinarily. What a great capstone to the year!

This LINK takes you to next years ASA list for the Secondary School. These are not final, and we are still taking in student interest information, but we hope to run all of these activities at some point over the 2018/19 School Year.

We have many projects happening over the summer here at IST and that will require the closing of some facilities as we do this. Please note the following closure dates for the Athletic Facilities:

Starting June 25th, all Restrooms and Locker rooms in the Athletic Facilities areas (Pool, MPH, Hardcourt, Pitch) will be closed due to work on the Septic System.

MPH: Closes June 25th, Re-Opens August 1
Pool: Closes June 25th, Re-Opens August 1 (note the pool itself is open after July 22nd, but the restrooms and lockers are closed)
Pitch: Closes June 18th, Re-Opens August 1
Hardcourt: Will remain open throughout summer. Some days may be unavailable due to routine maintenance and cleaning. No toilets will be available.

First, I would like to thank all of you for a wonderful first year for me as the Activities Director, and I appreciate your patience, advice and suggestions as we've gone over the year. Thank you to all of the Parents who hosted for ISSEA Swimming, thank you to those who volunteered their time on any given weekend or event, and thank you to those of you who have helped coach or lead an activity.

Second, I want to remind everyone about the amazing opportunities we will have next year! We will be hosting two amazing events, the first is the Global Issues Service Summit (GISS) in January where we will bring in student leaders from all over Africa for an awesome learning opportunity. This will be run by our great Service Learning Coordinator Dee Milne and MYP Coordinator Vish Bhoja. Our next big event will be the ISSEA STEM competition in April. We will have a variety of Science, Math, Engineering and Technology driven competitions with schools coming in from all over South and East Africa.

For both of these events, we will be looking for homestays, volunteers and community support and we know we will be able to count on our great community to be there!

Enjoy the long holiday and GO TWIGAS!
