Save the Date: International Day November 2018
Please save the date of November 2nd, 2018, when we will commemorate IST's 55th Anniversary in an all -school International Day Celebration. The Parent Networks, for both campuses, are instrumental in organizing this event, and will work with students to make sure this day is memorable.

2018-19 Calendar Amendment
Please note that the 2018-19 Calendar has been amended. The tentative date for the Maulid Holiday has moved from 26th November to 21st November. Note, this date is still tentative and will depend on the sighting of the moon. An updated calendar is available for download on our website. For convenience, please go to the link below to view.

We wish to inform parents whose children are returning to IST next school-year that fee invoices for the 2018-19 have now been emailed. Please pay the amount due as indicated on the invoice as soon as you can or at least by the first payment deadline of August 17th 2018, regardless of the payment plan selected. In the event you have not received electronic copies of invoices or wish to have more information, please feel free to contact the following staff in the Fees Department. Facility Use During June/July Break: Pools and Libraries
With the long school break, there are still plenty of options to be at school. Parents can accompany their children to use the pools and libraries. These are great opportunities! Please do come with your school issued ID and note that children under 12 years of age who are swimming need to be accompanied by a responsible adult. There will be an exceptional amount of work being done to the Secondary Facilities during the break, therefore the whole of the Secondary Campus is closed during the break with the exception of the Secondary pool hours noted below.

The Secondary Campus has some great resources to help families plan for the 2018-19 year. Read below for full details including an updated Supply List as well as reminders about the BYOL programme and optional trips. Don't miss this important information! Note, the optional trips list for 2018-19 has been updated with the most current version dated May 25th and the School Supply List has been updated with the most current version dated June 13th.

Rufiji Leprosy Trust Launches the Bill Powell Education Fund
The Rufiji Leprosy Trust is proud to launch the William Powell Education Fund for Kindwitwi's Children in honour of Bill Powell, the inspirational teacher and former CEO of IST. This fund will continue Bill's legacy, ensuring talented children can pursue their dreams.

June/July Playgroup
The Bushbabies Playgroup is offering football, dance, guitar and other options this June and July.

Piano Tuning Services Available
Julia Bryant is a semi retired music teacher. She established the Instrumental Music Programme at IST Elementary and Secondary Schools in 2002, and taught MYP Music in addition to being Instrumental Music Coordinator until 2008. She is now tuning pianos in Dar, having studied with a Steinway tuner in the UK. Follow the link above to find out how to contact Julia.

Umoja: Short Course in Tanzania
The Lead Coordinators of the proposed United World Colleges (UWC) Short Course "Umoja: Coming Together to Understand Conflict" invited students to register for the course which will take place from June 19th to 28th at the International School Moshi (ISM) in Tanzania.
