Open Forum for Parents: April 11th, 7pm, IST Secondary Library
Mark your calendars and plan to join us next Wednesday for an informative evening with information presented by the IST Board. Among the topics scheduled to be presented are: Financial outlook, Benchmarking of salaries and school fees, Update on the Nordic school land issue, Athletic Center, and other projects as well as the Strategic Plan. All parents are warmly invited.

Further Reading about Third Culture Kids
IST has been very fortunate to have Tanya Crossman with us this past week. She spent Tuesday and Wednesday at the ES, working with parents, TA's, teachers, Grade 4, and Grade 5. All of her workshops were hands on and practical to our ever changing, global lives. Copies of her book, Misunderstood, are still available in both the ES and SS Libraries for 35,000 TSH or $15 USD. If you are looking for further reading, follow this link for some suggestions from Tanya as well as our own librarians.

Parent Workshop on Digital Citizenship
Do you have burning questions about your kids and technology? Sarah Hodgson (Technology Integration Coach and Educator) and Carole Kessler (Elementary School Counselor) will explain the role of technology at school and how to help your child successfully navigate technology at home (Screen time, appropriate limits, safety, social media) You won't want to miss it!

IST Book Fair on April 11, 12, 13 - Parent Help Needed!
IST is holding a fantastic BOOK FAIR on April 11,12,13! Educraft Global will be coming onto campus with a number of great books for sale. Books for EC through Middle School will be available, with after school hours for our SS friends to make the journey to the ES. April 12 is student led conference day, all are welcome! We will need parent support to help set up and work at the book fair. Sign up through the link below.

IST Secondary to join the Jr. NBA league in Dar
IST will be adding a boys and girls U-15 team for the 2018 Dar Jr. NBA league hosted at JMK Park. The Jr. NBA is an outreach program sponsored by the National Basketball Association from the United States, and looks to create additional opportunities for students to take part in the game of basketball around the world. It is a competitive league that will allow our student-athletes to both develop and challenge themselves. Read below for the full details from Joe Seavey, Athletics/Activities Coordinator.

Invitation to the 2018 Personal Project Exhibition
While the personal project may be over, the celebration is about to begin. Our students are very eager to share their projects with the IST community. Please join them and help celebrate their success at the end of this journey. You are all cordially invited to the 2018 Personal Project Exhibition. Wednesday, April 18th from 2-4pm with the official exhibition running from Thursday, April 19th from 4-5:30pm in the Secondary MPH.

Middle School Only Movie Night: The Greatest Showman
Middle School Only: Save the Date, April 13th Power to the Pen, a Take Action Tuesday group, is hosting a movie night for Middle School students to raise funds for a local boarding school. Power to the Pen will be hosting the Middle School movie night showing The Greatest Showman! It will be super comfortable with plenty of food and bean bags for everyone. Mount Meru Trip: Highlights from the ESP Climb
