Applications for 2018-19 Now Being Accepted
Current IST parents are encouraged to sharing this post with their friends whom them know would like to join IST. Applications for 2018-19 are being accepted. Families can visit https://www.istafrica.com/admissions/2018 to learn more.

Re-enrolment for 2018-19 is Open
Please check your email inbox for complete information regarding the procedures for re-enrolment for the coming school year. All families whose children will continue their enrolment at IST in the new school year will need to complete the re-enrolment form and pay the $1,000 re-enrolment fee for each child before April 5th in order to secure a place for their child(ren). If your family will be moving, please indicate on the re-enrolment form that you do not wish to re-enrol for 2018-19. You can also get a copy of the re-enrolment form and papers in the accounts offices on each campus in case you do not have easy access to a printer. Thank you all in advance for your help in completing the re-enrolment process for the new school year (the first day of school will be Wednesday, August 15th, 2018). Author Tanya Crossman: Two Opportunities for Parents to Meet
Leaving parents are invited to a talk by Tanya Crossman on Saturday, April 7th (registration is required and attendance is limited to parents whose children are leaving IST this year). Tanya will also give another talk which all IST parents may attend on Tuesday, April 3rd. Tanya is the author of Misunderstood: The Impact of Growing Up Overseas in the 21st Century. From the Elementary Principal's Desk
This week, Tony talks about this morning's ASA assembly. There were 13 presentations that ranged from Karate to Animation and School Choir to IST TV! It was a great event. He give thanks to Megan Hardeman for all her excellent work with the ASA programme this term and for putting together the impressive programme this morning. He also highlights important events such as last weekend's Basketball tournament, Student Let conferences, Third Culture Kids workshop, IST's Got Talent and parents workshops as well as the calendar of events and advance notices. IST Book Fair on April 11, 12, 13!
IST is holding a fantastic BOOK FAIR on April 11,12,13! Educraft Global will be coming onto campus with a number of great books for sale. Books for EC through Middle School will be available, with after school hours for our SS friends to make the journey to the ES. April 12 is student led conference day, all are welcome!

Secondary News

 
TEDxYouth@Upanga
TEDxYouth@Upanga produced a truly inspirational day after 9 months of preparation. But perhaps the defining feature of the event was the energy of both the eight speakers and one hundred participants. The speakers addressed issues from mental health to intersectional feminism with as many as five students form IST speaking. The ten schools participating had a chance to interact with Sayyeda Datoo, Jacinta Mensa-Shebra, Abir Sheikh, Shahzaib Jaffer, and Kanengo Diallo from IST as well as Nabila Saleh, Maitham Rajvani, and Ayesha Samji from outside IST. Mark Your Calendar: CIS Africa Tour 2018
The Council of International Schools' University Fair comes to IST Secondary on April 2018. On Tuesday, April 10th 3:15 pm -4:30 pm, IST will host the CIS Tour University Fair at the Secondary Campus, Venue - Hard Court. There will be about 21 universities. Parents and students are encouraged to attend this important event. Don't miss out!

Mount Meru Trip: Highlights from the ESP Climb
One of the ESP trip options this year was climbing Mount Meru. Thanks to Keegan Vance, Secondary Teacher, for sharing these highlights from the trip.

Class of 2018 Visual Art and Design Technology Exhibition: A Stunning Body of Work
​If you are ready to have your breath taken away, stop by Room B4 on the Secondary Campus to check out the work of this year's students pursuing visual art and design technology. The body of work is provocative, innovative, inspirational and beautiful. The exhibition closes on Friday, March 16th. Check out some of the highlights here.

At IST Secondary, we want students to develop the skills of time management, planning and organising.
