The Class of 2020's IB Results Are A Testament To Their Hard Work

Summer months can be a nail-biting period for most seniors, especially those graduating from International Baccalaureate (IB) schools, as they wait for their DP scores to be released and look to confirm their university placement. With unprecedented events including the cancellation of DP examinations and a global pandemic, this year has been especially hard for IST's class of 2020 and all high school graduates across the world.

As the usual end-of-year IB exams couldn't take place, an alternative method was used, for most courses, to calculate student achievement in their Diploma courses. This alternative method considered internal assessment work submitted by all students, teacher-generated predicted grades and school-based historical performance to determine final DP grades

For the IST class of 2020, the DP results provide much good news for our graduates and our school community! Their hard work, effort, and determination throughout the year were reflected in their final DP results. As a year group, IST students achieved an average score of 33, well above the global average at 29.9. Furthermore, 100 % of IST students in the program earned the Diploma which is well above the worldwide average of 78%.

We couldn't be happier or prouder that IST's class of 2020 as they have continued IST’s long history of successful results. We are confident that this work will benefit our new alumni for many years to come, and are very excited to stay connected and hear of continued success in their future endeavors.
