Music

I grew up in a small town in the northeastern part of the United States. I had excellent music teachers for band, chorus and piano all through my growing-up years.

I studied music and Music Education at Covenant College and received a B.A. My Master’s degree is in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy from Lesley College. I completed the coursework for a Ph.D at the University of Hartford in Music Education with a specialty in Early Childhood.

My overseas teaching began in Taipei, Taiwan in 1981. Since then I have taught in Norway, Egypt, France, China and North America. I can teach choral and instrumental music in middle and upper school, piano lessons, handbell choir, and upper school general music, but I am happiest teaching Elementary and Early childhood music.

One of the best things that has come of my itinerant lifestyle is my beautiful daughter from China. She and I have lived together on three different continents and we are expecting to enjoy IST and the wonderful natural beauty of Tanzania.
