I am from the United States and have been teaching since 2000. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Teaching (Elementary Education K-6) degree, I ventured to the Middle East to teach at the Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel. While in Tel Aviv, I was part of the ESL program and also taught grade one. I spent two wonderful years there, and from that point on I ’ ve had “ the bug ” for teaching internationally. Because I missed my family and friends so much, I decided to go home for a stint and ended up in my college town of Charlottesville, Virginia. I made the jump up to grade five for three years … but I truly missed working with the little ones and being overseas! So, now I am back teaching EC3 here at IST, and I am definitely in my element.
