EAL and Kiswahili

I am Tanzanian and have been teaching since 1994. I attended the University of Dar as Salaam where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree with Education. I have had the opportunity to attend lots of in service courses offered here at IST, the AISA conference and last year I attended the workshop in Teaching and Learning in the PYP --- Inquiry as a Philosophical Stance and Pedagogical Tool. I have been at IST for more than 10 years, working mostly with lower grades as a teaching assistant. I have also worked as the cover teacher for Grade One. Last year I worked as a substitute teacher and this year I am teaching Kiswahili in Kindergarten and Grade One. At the same time, I am assisting EAL students.
