French

I grew up in Montpellier, south of France where I studied English literature and civilization. Before receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree I took a year out in England where I taught A-level French. I also taught French at Mount Holyoke College, Mass (US) for a year before receiving my MA. After graduating from university I decided to specialize in the field of audiovisual translation. I enrolled in a translation school specializing in dubbing and subtitling and completed the 2 year course. I was then hired by Made in Europe, a thriving dubbing and subtitling company based in Brussels. I acquired experience and had the opportunity to work with film directors and actors as well as other free lance translators. I soon realized that even though I thoroughly enjoyed my job I still missed teaching. I decided to move to Tanzania and give it a try for three months. Only 2 weeks after my arrival I had already made up my mind. I wanted to stay. I started looking for a job and got hired as a Grade 2 teacher in an international school in Dar es Salaam. After 2 years I applied at IST where I got hired as an elementary French teacher.

I am very excited about living and working in Tanzania. The International School of Tanganyika has a reputation for excellence and I look forward to continue learning from and contributing to its community.
