Marianne Jenkinson

Student Services Grade 5

My original teaching background is Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), certified through Cambridge Royal Society of Arts. I then earned my Diploma in TEFL through the same examining body.  After working as a Young Learner’s Coordinator for The British Council, I decided my passion lay in working with children. I took a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Young Learner’s with The University of York. Working as a teacher trainer for the British Council in North Africa and the Middle East with local and expatriate teachers was culturally and professionally rewarding. The first International School I worked in was Shanghai American School, 2002 – 2005, as the TEFL department coordinator for Middle School and Elementary School on their Pudong Campus

I joined the International School of Tanganyika in 2005. I have worked in many capacities throughout the Elementary School, and currently privileged to work with the Grade 5 team as a Student Services teacher.
