Antoinette Erkens-Krackowizer

Senior Teacher Geita School

I am from Australia and joined the teaching staff at IST in 2007 as the Multi-Age Group Senior Class Teacher at Mchauru Village, Geita.
I have been an educator since 1970 and my specialty areas are ESL, EFL and LOTE German. My career has taken me to school locations as diverse as teaching from bower-shelter “classrooms” at remote Aboriginal communities in the Kimberley of Western Australia, or Schools of the Air in Northern Australia to the hustle and bustle of large high schools in Sydney. My experience encompasses teaching all grades from K-12; adult education; in administration as deputy and principal; in curriculum as an English language and literacy consultant. Learning Kiswahili has contributed to the richness of my Tanzanian experiences at IST.
