Amy Carr
Board Chair
Amy is an economist who has managed donor-funded capacity building and policy research projects for the past decade. She has experience in the education and labor policy fields, including advising the US Labor Secretary, teaching graduate school in South Africa, and advising businesses in Armenia. Amy holds degrees from Davidson College, University of Maryland and the London School of Economics. She served on an international school advisory board in Armenia, as it was undergoing re-accreditation and planning for a new facility. She and her husband, Karl Fickenscher, are both American and arrived in Dar es Salaam in January 2008. They have a daughter in grade 7 and sons in grades 5 and 3.
