Student Life

A view of life in the elementary school

Do You Know The Fun Of Learning?

The first three years of the early childhood begin in Kindergarten. Here the child learns how to write, do a bit of math and mostly learn through play. The school provides computers that have a wide variety of educational games. As students learn how to read or solve mathematics, at the same time they play games that help them to improve. The children play Math Blaster where you learn all about math with a story line to it. Another game is called Reading Skills. This is a game with a wide range of stories. You read along the lines below after the computer says the same line with the correctly pronounced words.

After the child completes Kindergarten he or she will move to the UN road to the Elementary school. The first graders to fifth graders have a great time playing at break. There are two playgrounds for them, one soccer field, and an awesome swimming pool with three life guards and one teacher! There is also a hard court where basketball games are often played, sometimes cricket, or children relax and watch people play marvellous games while laughing their heads off.

If You Think That Would Be Fun Then You Must Be Thinking What Are The Classes Like?

Well just about 70 days ago the first graders had the 100th Day Of School. This is a special day for the first graders because it is their 100th day at school (if they haven’t been absent). For this day different classes do different things. Like one class would roll a dice 100 times and record the data and plot it into a graph, or count how many different colors there are in 100 Skittle packets, or even count 100 books. Life of the first graders may be relaxing but what about the second, third, and fourth graders?

Second And Third Grade ... What Do You Think?

The second graders visited Bagamoyo to work with the art students of Bagamoyo where they were taught how to make clay masks. After that they made some funny masks for themselves. The second graders enjoyed this chance to work with professional students and learn more about arts and crafts.

Fourth Graders Think That They Have More Fun.

The fourth graders however learn about slaves and get to go to the unbelievable Bagamoyo for a night. This may be the first experience for some children to leave their parents, though it is great fun. The students go to the museums or places where slaves were killed and many other exciting places. During the evening the students write small reflections on Bagamoyo and their day.

Lion King Can Be Spotted Again, Though By Whom?

Have you ever been wondering what the fifth graders do? There is something that you need to carry a camera for or even a camcorder because just around the corner lies a creature seen before.

It may be that your child hasn’t ever seen this creature, though you have. I think that you have got the idea. ITS PARTY TIME! Yup, fifth grades go to Mikumi for two nights and three days. Mikumi is a place to see lions, buffalos, elephants, cheetahs, and rhinos and the lucky fifth graders have a mission to spot them. This national park is somewhere where the fifth graders will be going. In the morning the students will be taken for a drive in the park and over here they will find all the animals that they can spot and write them down in a booklet that is given to them. During the night after diner you may see lions and many animals right from your window. The lodge that the fifth graders stay in is called “WILDLIFE LODGE”. The second day is the same as the first day though you come back earlier and have a swim in a pool and do some activities. Fifth graders go to Mikumi because they will be studying endangered animals after they return from Mikumi. They have to take an endangered animal and do a whole research project on it.
