A TYPICAL DAY AT IST...

Dear Diary,

Heaven and hell…that’s life as a teenager…well that’s the life of a brunette, cute, compassionate, respectful (self-conscious “ehem”) typical 7th grade girl at I.S.T… - ME!!!

Today was the 48,001,040th day at school (well... not really…but any ways…) The day started with my moaning and groaning (as usual) in the early morning mist, with me filling my hollow stomach with Kellogg’s Frosties and hot chocolate (I could almost hear it trickling down my esophagus, and drip…drip…dripping into my stomach.) After having brushed my teeth and hair, changing my clothes…blah blah blah…I set off for a 5-10 min car ride to school. As I entered the school grounds, I heard the familiar remarks, such as, “Hey waddup?” and “Sup homie” being chanted around constantly. I headed for the 10 min Home Room session where the daily news, announcements, etc…were made.

After Home Room, my usual gang (a few guys + a few girls = “our gang”) and I, dragged our un-functioning brains (they only switch off during math class on Monday mornings, or any other day, having only to hear the word “math”)…to math class (surprise, surprise!) There we spent a double lesson (each class is 40 min and if it is a double, it is 1hour 20min long) listening to our math teacher blab on about some “algebra” stuff and weird words such as “Coefficients” and “Y intercepts” – I mean I thought it was math class, not some “English vocabulary associated with memorizing the dictionary” lesson.

Anyway - back to the point... After a loooong math lecture, our class members climbed the flight of stairs, leading to the science lab (double lesson – our favorite – NOT!) We worked in groups figuring out the mass of “Venus”. The whole class jumped with joy as the teacher said “Homework due for next class” (that usually means class is over). My gang and I walked through the courtyard where we watched the high schoolers hangout, and then headed for the canteen. I bought a pizza and Coke and set off towards our 7th grade hangout area. We sat under the palm tree “discussing world issues” (gossiping!). Our hearts filled with disgrace as we saw the students heading for their classes (this meant break was over.)

We skipped (well we didn’t exactly “skip”…but you know…) to drama class. Our drama teacher told us we could have a warm up, (we ended up playing “fruit salad”, a very “fun, interesting, lovely” game…). We then worked in groups practicing our drama performances. 1hr 20 min passed like 5 minutes (since we were having an amusing time.) We continued our “journey” to Humanities. In Humanities we talked (for a very long time) about Roman life. The clock kept ticking… and finally it was time to go (1:10pm)!!!

My friends and I charged out of the room (left our bags at the 7th grade area) and headed for the canteen. There we saw a long queue awaiting us (canteen line), which was okay cause I decided to stay till 2:30pm. We waited and waited in the line and finally it was our turn. We got what we wanted and headed of to our usual hang out place. We re-discussed “world issues” (gossiping- u should know that by now…!) We ate our scrumptious Mars bars and drank our refreshing Pepsis. Time flew by like an eagle soaring through the sky and eventually it was time go home. I said bye to my pals and made a start towards the car park.

Well that’s all for now diary…bye!
