The secondary school student government
As each year passes the Student Government tries to improve itself, this year the Student Government formerly known as the Student Council has tried to reform itself. This is so it can help address the student’s needs in an efficient manner.
There are now three new councils, each associated with improving a selected area in the school. They are the Public Relations council, the Finance and Maintenance Council and the Social Council. These councils consist of people from each homeroom so that students can get their ideas and concerns to the Student Government easily.
Some of the things the Student Government is trying to improve this year are primarily the canteen menu but we are also trying to introduce another queuing line for getting food. This is because we have noticed that the two existing lines are not enough and that at numerous students cut the line to get food quickly. We are also trying to offer more discounts with the International Student ID cards (ISIC) and this should happen in the near future. The Student Government has also been trying to promote respect between teachers and students but also between students themselves. Since it was a success last year we are also going to try and hold another social so look out for information about it.
We are looking forward to making bigger and better changes to the school. More information is available in the secondary spotlight and if you have any suggestions on how to improve the school or any questions please talk to your homeroom representative.
