Welcome to the International School of Tanganyika’s Elementary School webpage!

The IST Elementary campus caters to children from age 3 years (Early Childhood Center) to ages 10-11 years (Grade 5). Our curriculum is a globally recognized one, the Primary Years Program from the International Baccalaureate. By offering this curriculum, we provide a child-centered learning environment that is recognized around the world and one that promotes an international approach to education. In addition to the academic school day, IST offers an extensive after-school activities program that all students are invited to participate in. Activities range from music and the arts to sports and community service projects. In line with the school Vision, IST endorses an approach to educating the whole child as opposed to only the academic side.

Our faculty and staff are a multi-national blend of professionals with many areas of expertise. We believe that educating children is a team approach which includes strong communication with parents and the school community.
