About the elementary library

The IST Elementary School Library helps in delivery of the curriculum by supporting and helping prepare students to become life- long learners and effective users of ideas and information. This is done through imparting information literacy skills and support in research and accessing of information Another important role of the Library is encouraging reading for pleasure.

The Elementary Library supports more than 400 children and about 50 teachers. It has over 21,000 books, mostly in English, but there is also a growing section of books in different languages. The stock includes fiction books, current informational and reference materials, periodicals, online databases and computers with internet access which is closely monitored.
