Grade Five

Grade Five is a year of transitions, developing student responsibility and independence towards the move to increasing independence in the Secondary School. Academics focus on the continued development of research and numeracy skills. Our Units of Inquiry are based on decision making, beliefs and values, exploration, space and changes in our emotional, physical and social skills. The year culminates in the students' presentation of the PYP exhibition, which is based on the study of interdependence between humans and animals. Highlights of this unit include a three night trip to Mikumi and Udzungwa National park to launch the focus on research for the project.
