ISSEA

ISSEA may be the biggest sporting event of the IST calendar and it is certainly at the centre of attention in November and March. ISSEA is a sporting tournament that takes place twice a year between six international schools from South and Eastern Africa. The sports represented are volleyball, football (soccer) and basketball.

Every year in November, IST’s soccer and volleyball teams set out to compete in the tournament while the basketball tournament is held in March. The tournament alternates venues each year and November 2004 IST hosted the soccer and volleyball tournaments.

In the past IST has always done extremely well in the tournaments. In 5 years IST has been able to assemble a big collection of trophies, including a number volleyball and soccer championship trophies. In years where IST was not as successful, they have always shown great sportsmanship, and won this award a number of times. Hopes and expectations are always high for the IST teams.
