Kilimanjaro Expeditions

ummit of KilimanjaroKilimanjaro Climb 2006

The annual Kilimanjaro climb was once again a great success as 20 IST students and four teachers attempted to climb Africa's highest mountain. The expedition was marked by a great spirit amongst the climbers and aided by fine weather and good organisation. The final push to the summit was hampered by an extremely cold wind, and snow, that forced some students to turn back. However, as dawn broke over Mwenzi peak, the majority of the party were on the summit and over half were able to continue throught the artic temperatures to Uhuru Peak, at 5895m the highest point on the continent.

Everyone agreed that this was a unique event and a great challenge for all involved.
