Teacher Swap Day

Not Your Average Wednesday

Students on the Elementary campus were surprised on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 as a different teacher greeted them first thing in the morning. All teachers and assistants participated in a school-wide swap. Gillian Latiff ran her PE classes through the corridors chanting and singing while Anne McAra taught the back kick to the EC children in the pool. Patrick Mbughi used the new ‘recycled’ instruments to teach his music classes and the children were certainly jamming. Ellen Claessens kept pace with the number of students sent to the office that day. They returned to their classrooms with smiles and sweets and were quick to volunteer to go back. Richard Wainwright taught lessons on responsibility as he took on the role of counselor for the day. And the Principal of the day, Neil Cook, was heard across the school as the PA announced that it was time to do the Macarena! Lessons ended with everyone joining in the central courtyard to sing karaoke. This was in no way an ordinary Wednesday!
