Picnic in the Park

Picnic in the Park is now an annual event in the Elementary School. The Library Quad was so completely covered with blankets and families enjoying their picnic that not a blade of grass could be seen. The entertainment was lively and varied.

Performances included many different kinds of dancing from Arabian, Indian, Ballet, Ngoma, Scottish and Pop. There was also a karate display. The musical performances included Elementary Choir and Recorder Group. Some of our braver students performed vocal, guitar and recorder solos.

Everybody enjoyed the performance by EC children who sang their favourite songs to us with boundless enthusiasm. Grade 3 students gave an impressive performance of ‘Balufon’ which they have been learning in their music lessons. What talented students we have in our school!

However, we discovered that it is not only the students in our school who are talented. Miss Carrie, Miss Linda and Miss Kristeen also performed a song for us.

We also had some visiting artists – a group called ‘The Voice’. When they were singing, everyone in the audience smiled.

This was truly a community event. Thank you to everyone whose energy made Picnic in the Park such a successful event.
