International Baccalaureate Diploma

Grade 11 Induction trip to Beachcomber

On 23rd August the Grade 11 students and 10 of their teachers travel up the coast for a two day induction trip to Beachcomber hotel. The programme involved an introduction to the IB Diploma Programme, Theory of Knowledge, CAS and how to manage the stresses and strains of Grade 11 and 12. As well as the all important curricular matters the students were able to get to know one another, perhaps the most important aspect for our new students.

The trip was a great success! All of our students were great company and cooperative and it seems that they have returned from the long holiday with a sense of maturity and determination to succeed on the IB programme. They did a great job with English language activities at Wamato School and built some very imaginative perception sand structures on the beach!

I hope that all students found the trip as worthwhile and enjoyable as I did. My sincere thanks to the Beachcomber Hotel for being our hosts and of course to all the teachers who accompanied and contributed to the activities.
