IB1 Induction at Bahari Beach and Wamato 2006

Two and a half days were spent at Bahari Beach at the beginning of the school year where the students were introduced to their Theory of Knowledge course, CAS and life as an IB student at IST. This was done through a mixture of classroom lessons and activities as well as a visit to Wamato school where our students entertained and ate with the pupils there. As well as the academics, students were given the opportunity to get to know each other, take part in some cooperative challenges on the beach and we even allowed them to have some time for relaxation! All in all, the trip was very successful and our students as usual, acted as excellent ambassadors for the school. Trips such as this cannot take place with out significant student cooperation and staff support. I’d like to thank the IB1 students for their positive attitude throughout and to all the staff who accompanied the trip. Thanks also to Pieter, Kelly, Ashika and Daniel in IB2 who came out to chat with the IB1 students about what life is like in IB1 and 2 from the student perspective.
