Interact - Wamato

The Wamato Primary School at Mbezi Beach consists of 450 students and now has 5 classrooms and 4 teachers compared to the previous 3 classrooms and 3 teachers. The Interact club aims at helping these teachers in their effort to enable every child to obtain the education that they deserve but can not afford. This year the Interact club concentrates on helping the students become more conversant and fluent in their use of the English language. Every week, the Wamato team creates written and oral activities for the students that aim at enhancing their English speaking as well as writing skills. The Interact club has helped to increase the number of teachers by hiring an additional teacher so as to enable the students to be split into smaller classes. Progress has also been made in the construction of classrooms to replace thatched roofs which allow the students to have a better working environment especially during the rainy season. The Interact club aims to continue with this effort to improve the learning conditions for the children at Wamato School.
