Mother Teresa

Every week, I.S.T. students board a bus and and embark on a 30-minute drive to the Mother Teresa's Charity Mission, where the students play, learn and talk with the young, the handicapped and the elderly. The main goal for anyone participating in Mother T's (as it's affectionately known) is to have fun themselves and to make sure that all the people at Mother Teresa's have fun as well - popping balloons, eating lollipops and dancing to ngoma drums till they drop, are just a few of the fun moments students have shared with the chilren at Mother Teresa's.

Student Insight:

" Mother Teresa is truly a fantastic experience. I have only been a member since the beginning of this year but I have developed a sense of connection to the activity. The people at Mother Teresa are one of the friendliest people I have ever encountered. I can safely say that that there has not been one Tuesday where I didn't enjoy myself, whether it be in learning, playing or just sitting down and talking with the people. For students on their first visit, there is always a slight feeling of apprehension considering the range of age groups and the different people you meet there, but once they enter the mission it is not long before they start to get to know everyone and begin to have fun."
