Community Service Activities

Human Rights

Like the other Community Service Activities, the goal of the Human Rights group is to aid the environment and community, by raising the awareness of human rights in Tanzania. This goal is focused on the community we live in, but mainly on the student body. Human Rights educate the students through various forms of advertisement, activities, plays, skits, and fundraisers, which are held through out the school year. Principal human rights issues in Tanzania include child abuse, famine, poverty, and police brutality and corruption. The Human Rights group has held and involved itself in many activities this year, all which are held to raise funds. This year alone, human rights has raised money through selling of Valentines day grams and rose, bake sales, contests, and by selling drinks at the International Night. To aid the community, the group has made educational posters for local less fortunate kids in Mikumi, has designed and created a shelter for women who work stacking stones, and visited a refugee camp.
